Dominican College, also called Dominican College of Blauvelt, is a four-year and master's-level, co-educational, independent, liberal arts college founded in 1952. The college was opened as a women’s college by the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt, and was later reorganized as a co-educational institution, today offering educational programs in numerous fields of study, that include undergraduate programs and graduate programs in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Teacher Education, Business, Educational Media, as well as adult degree programs.
The campus comprises 6 buildings and stretches on 64 acres in Orangeburg, New York, a suburb just 17 miles from New York City in Rockland County.
Dominican College's athletic teams have won 12 conference championships in the last five years, competing in the Central Atlantic College Conference (CACC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division II and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), in several sports, for both men and women. Dominican's athletic program is noted as one of the best in the metropolitan area, among small colleges.
